Ready to play?
I’m Percy Wang, a PPR Certified Professional pickleball instructor and tournament pickleball player. A lifelong tennis player, I switched to pickleball a few years ago and just can’t get enough of it. I love coaching as much as I love playing because it’s such a fun game at all ages and skill levels. I believe that every player can improve, whether you’ve never picked up a paddle before or you’re playing seven days a week.
I specialize in addressing player mechanics. For example, grip, swing path, footwork, and other technical aspects of your game.
The standard I set for myself as an instructor is unparalleled coaching that empowers every player to reach their potential. And, we always have fun! After all, the verb here is PLAY.
First time picking up a paddle, at 80 years old.
Here I am teaching my mom to dink, the first time she ever played.
Don’t just take my word for it.
“Percy is a very knowledgeable and insightful coach. He pays attention to detail and is very patient… I highly recommend training with Percy to improve your game.”
Jennifer
“The first thing Percy taught me was a neat trick to remember to keep my paddle in the ready position.”
Deanne
“I had asked Percy to help me improve my backhand….He listened to me, encouraged me, and was really patient...Percy was fun to work with!”
Ryder
Play to practice.
My philosophy is simple: Play to Practice. It’s OK to make mistakes in your rec matches practicing your new skills. Pick one skill you want to practice and use it during your match. Do it over and over whether you succeed or not. Focus on retraining muscle memory to solidify your new skills so they become second nature. Don’t always play to win. Find opportunities to play to practice.
Have fun!
